How Do Models of Artificial Intelligence Language Learning Work?
The way a baby learns is very, very different to how language learning systems do. The fact that they learn differently doesn't mean that they can't be useful as models of some aspects of language processing or in the brain. But i think all these caviots need to be taken into account. Then i think we'll want to supplement the statistical language models with models ofactual aspects of thought and reasoning,. including social, social modelling up social like mental states.
