I was using a very similar line I'm running a maths intervention at the school. It's not about getting all the questions right it's simply about setting a baseline and if she got four to write today and you get five or six right tomorrow that's an improvement absolutely then you are making fun yeah they really perked up when I kind of emphasized that  and couched in those those terms so we're on the same page with that that idea, Paul says.
