It's hard to figure out exactly when the company's priorities changed in a way that made it so that it was not doing enough to maintain the safety of its system. In 2017 and 2018, you see the company's power lines ignite nearly 20 major wildfires that killed more than 100 people. They faced more than $30 billion in liability costs and had to seek bankruptcy protection.
