Boethius - The Beginning of Medieval Philosophy?

Boethius is often treated as if he were a medieval figure. He's so thoroughly a classical figure, and one of the important things about medieval Latin philosophy is that hardly any of the philosophers themselves knew any Greek. So it would be wrong to see him himself as the beginning of medieval philosophy. Next time we'll look at philosophy in the Islamic world here on the history of philosophy without any gaps.
