The Pain of Losing a Friend
LZ Granderson: People think that I live such an exciting life. Actually my life is full of very severe pain and tragedy. Just a few days ago, one of my Sabre graduates had finished his first book based on his dissertation. He was driving to Pine Ridge Indian reservation, the food in blankets to Native Americans. On the way back, he was caught in a snowstorm, blew the car off the road and he was killed instantly. And then just yesterday, I got a postcard from him saying "I'm about to leave the Pine Ridge reservation" LZ: You knew he was dead when you received the card. Yes, I did.
