I think that the book captures that sort of alienation really well. It's difficult to believe that God is all loving and loves you if he does these things without sufficient reason, right? And it's kind of abuse or logic to say like, don't worry. That's not like your ... I hurt you because I love you kind of a thing. So my hope is that it persists in the narrative and it imprecises in the canon as it addresses this incredibly important existential problem.
