The act of being physically there with them and continuously confirming to them, i'm not going anywhere, is very powerful. A lot of times people either consciously or unconsciously, will try to push you away as a therapist. It's the feelings that're the root problem for many kids who are misbehaving in their lives. And so instead of focusing on the behavior, which they know is bad for doing, said, hey, what's going on underneath? Cause then you can learn how to talk about your feelings under it.
