The One Room School House in Upstate New York

In your writing you've talked about your own childhood and in your memoirs. And I wonder it sounds like you started in a one room school house as a student. The way you describe it it sounds like another time. Was there a teacher from whether it be early on or later that really influenced you? Yes, I had excellent teachers. They were very, very good. Is there anyone that yes stood out? No, the one room school houses was a feature of rural life in America.
