The Value of the Coat
The coat was, some people argue the coat was so important because in fact, Marx was so broke. He didn't have a really good coat until Engels' bottom one so that he could like go out in the cold and then go to the London library or whatever. So, that may have been what inspired the coat to be the like, paradigmatic commodity That is brought up in the first stage of the value form analysis. If you want to read more about that, go check out chapter one of capital volume one.That's where Marx brings it all out. It's that whole linen coat thing that every Marxist knows as a joke.
