The Importance of Family History in the Treatment of ALS
ALS also known as Luke Eric's disease. 50% of patients die within 30 months of onset symptoms. Patients may be sensitive to non-duplarizing muscle relaxants, and they can have a hyperclimic response with the use of succinylcholine due to extra-junctional acetylcholine receptors. Spinal anesthesia is usually avoided, so kind of like multiple sclerosis, but an epidural is okay.
