The Black Velvet Band
A man falls in love with a woman who always wears a black velvet band around her throat. When he asks her to take it off, she says you'll be sorry if i do, so i won't. He becomes obsessed with this black velvet band and one night snips it off while she's sleeping. In some versions of the story, they live their entire lives without ever having seen each other again. But either way, your head falls off.
