"I am the first one ever to come out of a family. So you know, there's no modeling," he says. "It was definitely probably a lot more of a closed, a closed thing back then." He recalls sending 30 VHS screeners with his name on them and hoping someone would respond. The process is still hard but now it's easier than ever, he says.
