How to Start Reading Revolutions
The first thing i ever read back in college that was concerned with a general theory on revolutions, as opposed to just one ar revolution, was hanna arent on revolution. The american colonies had a very large middle class and basically no poor urban masses. So without that desperate pressure pushing up from below, things didn't get so bloody. And certainly most of the extreme violence that we've seen so far has all been perpetrated by,. were driven by the lower classes in paris. Now i'm not sure that that's right though, and this is going to be more research to get the bottom of it.
