X-Rays and CT Scans

CT scanning like x-rays itself was almost entirely unexpected. Godfrey Hounsley and Adrian Filicin won the Nobel Prize in 1979 for inventing CT scans. They developed a new way of looking at tissue that allowed them to see 3D objects, rather than just 2x2 as they had been doing before.
