Ginny Spenzi: There are some enormous misconceptions out there about training techniques and options. Extinction means if you ignore a behavior, so you don't reinforce it by giving the dog attention or whatever, it'll go away. The problem with just ignored advice is that it assumes that only you provide reinforcement to the dog.
