This month, Putin, Trump, Zelenskyy, and European world leaders seemed more serious than ever before about finding a path towards some sort of peace and out of the three-and-a half-year-long War in Ukraine. In his first trip to Ukraine as prime minister, Mark Carney then announced that Canadian troops could be part of protecting that peace, once it’s reached.
Journalist Tim Mak, founder of Kyiv-based media outlet The Counteroffensive and former U.S. Army combat medic gives his take on the peace talks and explains how Ukrainians have been experiencing the war both on the frontlines and on the home front.
