The browser clears up its own private cue before handing back control. The only reason that it doesnit really is has to do with performance, because ping back and forth between the event loop and job script is actually fairly expensive. So they just want to get rid of all these things, pending, things that they know they're going to have to handle. They just want to do that as efficiently as possible.
