A Christmas Carol

There are five staves to the Christmas Carol. Scrooge is visited by ghosts from past, present and future. He has a change of heart after seeing his nephew's ghost tell him he will be tortured for life if he doesn't make amends. The book was written in 1843 but not published until 1865.
