The History of Multi-Level Selection

Theories of social evolution are invoking different perspectives from different perspectives. And so it's possible to translate one perspective to the other, as far as I'm concerned. John Maynard Smith published an article in 1964 saying that group selection was a very weak force. In 1987, he visited the haystack model, and by then there were computer simulations available. He basically did a computer simulation of Maynard Smith's model, but because they could now had, he could relax some of his assumptions.
