There's some scholarship on this that I think we should probably do a whole episode about at some point is like there was a big break in the 60s for a lot of different reasons. But once you get into this new left adjacent rah radical rock music scene where they're old and they're stuffy and they're like forces of oppression which in many ways they were in the60s right these unions are like schlurotic and very racist often, opposed to pro-vietnam and opposed to all kinds of radical changes it's kind of nice that that battle was won in the New Deal era it's a lot easier to have already unionized a place than to
