PCOS: A Clinical Diagnosis
PCOS is a clinical diagnosis, best made by using the 2003 Rotterdam criteria. Adult patients must meet two of the three to be diagnosed with PCOS. Adolescence must have hercitism in oligoan ovulation, at least two years post-menarchy,. Polycystic ovaries are a normal finding in this age group and should not be used in diagnosis. Other possible disorders should be ruled out.
