Olga: How has the pandemic further exacerbated academic precarity? Ladan: This book was very much produced in this disabling rather than enabling period and environments. So we know that COVID led to restrictions of movements, for instance, and that means that there were travel restrictions, border closures,. migration plans were disrupted and migrants got stranded. And so separation from families and loved ones also means that there is a heightened risk of social exclusion, discrimination or mental health issues as well.
