The Proximity Argument

We are much more likely to help our neighboursn friends, nd people living close to us than we are to show solidarity with strangers far away that we can relate to. So yes, poland is is getting help, or spain, because they are a part of europe, because they have some, some commonality that binds us. And so it is often easier to provide assistance using kind of proximity criteria than it is o to provide assistance to countries that we we know very little about. That's the reason why we ierer more money to er closer neighbors. But that is precisely what globe public investment challenges.
