The Purpose and Passion of the Vedanta

Our passion is all at the mental level. Most mostly passions are related to our identification with our mind and body. When we identify also with something much higher and nothing transcendent, which is essentially pure, which is unchanging then we will be able to transcend the influence of passions. We can sub-bletive them and then go beyond them. Our passion and purpose will be made. Do you think so?
