The Importance of Rest Periods in Training

Chris Beardsley: I think ultimately all the volume kind of sort of literature that people use to defend high volumes and just comes from studies with your rest periods. Every time when they standardize for the rest periods, it changes everything. So if we're looking at the maximum amount of hypertrophy stimulus, straight sets are kind of the standard for accumulating that because of the fact that we're going to be able to mechanically load those fibers. Then was we go through the intense fires, no matter what they, the intensifiers are going to at best at absolute best going to be somewhat equal.
