What substantively would a society that is not racialized look like? And what should public policy do to ensure that people drawn from any demographic group have real opportunities to flourish? I think we should, as much as possible, full proof our systems against bigotry. Education is one of the only ways in which the state gets to intervene in a person's odds of success at a very early age. Nothing in life matters if you feel unsafe if you live in a neighborhood with lots of crime. The wealthy use a lot of their moneys to buy a premium for living in safe neighbourhoods.
