The Importance of Idempotency in Reliability
Idempotent means that if you do the same operation one after another, it doesn't change the result. It's actually fairly simple and like all good ideas in my mind are bored from TCP. Like anything around reliability, I feel like that was kind of the pioneering of a lot of reliability ideas. So we have sequence numbers and when the producer sends an event, it attaches a sequence number. If the broker gets the same sequence number twice, it from the same producer That bit is important. And I think it shows up as either info or warning in your logs.
