The book is about six or seven individuals, depending on how we count them. The focus of the first chapter is bertrand bartolomea, a woman who's probably like lesser nobility of provence local aristocracy. She ends up being a servant, a serving woman for delphine, kind of like a constant companion,. And she doesn't know back. So it's interesting to me to see people from thi side of legal figures from the fourteenth century.
