The Importance of Euro 6 Standards for Trucks
Trucks account for 4% of Australia's carbon emissions and that's a rising share. We recommend in our report that the federal government introduces Euro 6 standards from 2024 so that Australians can breathe cleaner air as soon as possible. The technology to meet Euro 6 standards is extremely widely and easily available. But unless Australian regulations catch up with the rest of the world, most companies don't have an incentive to invest in this technology.
