Kraine's planning, motivation and tactics have exposed shortcomings of russia's modernized military. Its troops have met fiercer resistance than expected when trying to encircle kave ucranian counter attacks have stalled advances in other areas. At the tactical level, i think they're much more competent because they have a much more professional force. You knowit values individual initiative that short of battlefield. And so i think they defended fairly well.
