Venture capital firms are always going to want a stable of moonshot potentials in their portfolio. There are plenty of entrepreneurs out there that are eager to play the game with, he says. Overconfidence can be inspiring; it can give investors confidence to take the plunge. But if overconfidence turns into a conviction that I've got the right solution when the universe is telling me this isn't going to work, you set yourself up for failure. The weaker entrepreneur will zigzag around and change direction as they get frustrated and confused.
