The Importance of Transcripts in Linguistic Anthropology

Linguistic anthropology has a reputation for being really impenetrable. There's often a lot of, you know, technical vocabulary that we use to describe things. So I tried to move as much of that as I could into just pointing toward it in footnotes and tried to put the transcript as an appendix because I know that not every reader wants to wade through wants to wades through that.
