The American Civil War Was a Hamiltonian
The great misnomer of the American Civil War is that everything Abraham Lincoln did in order to save the Union. The Union it's abundantly clear that the Union was voluntary. At least three different states almost didn't join the Union and several of them I think was two, but for sure Virginia did had it put into their state constitution that they could leave it anytime.
