I Finally Strike It Rich
As 1849 drew to a close, miners continued to pour into California from land in sea. Some prospectors did strike it rich, either through skill and selecting which claims in mind, or sheer dumb luck. The richest claims yielded up to $17,000 a week, roughly $340,000 today. But even those who didn't make these obscene amounts of money could still under several thousand dollars worth of gold - for most was a life-changing amount.
