Effective Altruism and Utilitarianism

I think something that's under-addressed in the rationalist community is just how each person is totally unique and special. I think it comes from, if you read much about effective altruism, like utilitarianism. That can unintentionally sometimes smash down the individual into everybody. And so I definitely see utilitarianism and other philosophical movements as a rebellion against that.
