Lacan's critique that being is an effect of discourse resonates with this entire theory of linguistic performativity and so on. But at the same time, I mean, yeah, there's still this centrality of the sense of being, the sense of sense full rather than senseless character of being. Lacan also tries to draw our attention to the fact that producing such consistent linguistic consistency or symbolic consistency always remains open to the risk of establishing a regime of domination in the literal sense of the world.
