China and Vietnam - What's Happening in Taiwan Strait?

A US Navy warship sailed through the Taiwan Strait on November 5th, but the transit was not made public at the time. The commander of the US Pacific Fleet said that the guided missile destroyer USS Benfold made the transit marking the fourth US warship to do so since July. It seems like although it does seem like there's been a little downturn since China launched those major military exercises around Taiwan in August. But I'm sure it's going to pick back up if it hasn't already.
