How Much Can I Trust God to Lead Me?

They put god in stuff that i don't think god cares about very much. How much can i trust god to leade me? I remember in the book of ruth, we started with eight main characters, and now we're down to for we started with a man name elimelek. He died ten years ago in moab during the fami.
