What Can We Learn From the Collapse of the Soviet Union?
The Soviet Union's in political and economic turmoil, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have already voted overwhelmingly for independence. On Sunday, each of the 15 republics will take part in a national referendum to stay with Moscow or break away. This event also seems to be pretty central to Xi Jinping's ideas around corruption. The Chinese Communist Party sees cracking down on corruption and ramping up ideological discipline as fundamental to its survival.
