It's about the possessiveness but it also as a reader kind of makes you wonder like are John and Jenny seeing some weird things in the paper too? I think mostly because I read this story from a psychological lens I think no. So then what happens is the woman in the wallpaper kind of breaks free of the wallpaper and the narrator starts seeing her elsewhere. She says at one point I think that woman gets out in the daytime and I love that she refers to her as that woman and I'll tell you why privately I've seen her.
