How to Monitor for Recurrent Pulmonary Hypertension After Surgery
The first year recommend repeat ventilation perfusion scanning and echocardiography at 6 to 12 months. The perfusion scan is interesting in that it continues to improve over the next year. And then we typically, if our patients are doing well at that one year mark, have them come back once a year if they're able to. It's also helpful to us if someone comes back with the current pulmonary hypertension after surgery to see if there's evidence of recurrent thrombosis.
