There's a strong evolutionary logic to that like you look at how evolutionary processes work, like our job for example why can we speak and hear. So, evolution used the untapped potential of reserve material so you could say in the previous world where we had thicker jaws and the inability to hear very well. The job of having take jaws was an evidence of like doing that job in a mediocre way.
