Is This Coca Cola Wine a Cure for Morphine Addiction?
In 1885 Atlanta brought in legislation to ban the consumption of alcoholic drinks. Pemberton panicked, scrambled to develop a non-alcoholic version of his popular products. He decided to sell it as a recreational fountain drink rather than a medicine. It was also suggested that this French cola wine was a cure for morphine addiction - which is absolute bullshit because it didn't even help him kick his morphine addiction.
