Money's Origins - Is That a Truer Story?

Oa: I was intrigued to learn that money's origins were quite different from the stories that i'd kind of heard. So one story that we get sometimes is that money arose because the barter system just wasn't quite good enough. The other story that i've heard is that it arose out of a kind of debt based system, so that if one person has something to sell and the other person wants it but doesn't have any way of paying for it, you just hand him an io u. Oa: There's more evidence for that story than the money coming out of barter.
