Reptile Survival Story - The Horned Lizard

Dr. Raymond L. Ditmar's, who was the curator of mammals and reptiles at the Bronx Zoo in 1928 when all of this happened, weighed in. He deemed the story of the animal's survival, quote, utterly impossible. Two other biologists, Dr. D.B. Castile and Dr. J.T. Patterson, both from Texas, were also consulted for their take on the horned lizard situation. Neither was willing to denounce the claim completely on record but noted that there was no other known instance of such an occurrence that would offer precedent.
