S1E34 - The Soul of Freedom | Fr. Gregory Pine, O.P.
Aquinas 101 - Course 3: God and Creation
Is There Ambivalence in Both Registers?
Our will is the appetite consequent upon our intellect. We desire those things that we first know and thus our wills are ordered to what is universally good. No particular good compels the will save the highest good which is to say when you see the vision of God in heaven unto ages of ages you cannot look away. Freedom of exercise is poised between self-inslavement and true freedom. Not choosing or choosing to do or not do things that are bad for you ultimately bind you to choices that are destructive. You either choose to self-insLave or you choose to be truly free.
