Are You Lonely?
Two thirds of Americans were lonely in 2019, including 80% of Gen Z and 70% of millennials. Having social connections online can do something for you, but it's not the same as having deep, nuanced, textured relationships and connections. It takes 200 hours to become a close friend with someone and 90 hours to go from kind of a casual acquaintance to an actual friend. People that have close friendships have a higher chance of survival by up to 50%.
