The Human Ecto Parasites Hypothesis

A new study explores the possibility of human to human transmission. It would involve fleas, lice and other ecto parasites living on people's bodies. The idea is that they bite an infected person who then infects others with their infection. This could lead to a 'human-to-human' spread rather than one mediated by rats. But this does not mean it was definitely the human ecto parasites which caused the pandemic.
