The Downfall of Galianus

Galianus' downfall was connected to a revolt stage by his general Aurelius. However, the generals who are amongst Galianus' innermost coterie become disenchanted with his rule. Among these cabal are two future emperors Aurelian and Claudius II. According to Zosimus, book one, chapter 40, they enlisted a commander of Dummation Horseman called Kecropius to oversee the plan. Some stories then try to exonerate Claudius because he becomes Emperor later. But there clearly is a conspiracy from inside.
