The End of Western Civilization

The tension between postmodernity and modernity just saturates our modern discourse. Could this series of disagreements spell the end of Western civilization? Some people may say yes. But I guess I want to bring you a tale of optimism because there are a lot of philosophers out there that would say, no. This isn't the end of the world. The point is cultures ebb and flow with any one time period's answer to this question.
